Fashion and Textile Business Excellence Cooperative launched

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Fashion and Textile Business Excellence Cooperative (FTBEC), an initiative within the department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management at the N.C. State Wilson College of Textiles, is dedicated to advancing the fashion and textile industry and the professionalism of its practitioners.

 

Following is more information on the FTBEC.

 

What is FTBEC?
 

  • It is a new initiative within the department of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management (TATM), Wilson College of Textiles, North Carolina State University.

  • It is a unique, industry-university partnership dedicated to advancing the fashion and textile industry and the professionalism of its practitioners.

  • The FTBEC provides support, services, and programs to benefit students, faculty, and corporate partners.

  • The FTBEC visions to serve as a thought leader in the increasingly multifaceted, dynamic and competitive fashion and textile industry, documenting and disseminating new knowledge.

 

FTBEC aims to provide


Business excellence services

  • Share best practices and work through existing business challenges in your organization

  • Student projects where member companies’ challenge can be analyzed

  • Examples of potential project include extensive market intelligence for business decision-making, consumer analytics for product development and brand management, global expertise on consumers and markets

  • Access to faculty research programs

  • Access to Fashion and Textile Business Case Collection, prepared by faculty and students

 

Customized training programs

  • Short courses for trends and key industry issues

  • Special training courses for new employees with non-textile/apparel background

  • Training for doing business abroad

 

Networking and marketing

  • Industry networking and knowledge exchange at FTBEC’s partner only semi-annual conference

  • Networking with North Carolina State University faculty, students and staff

  • Test drive talent through internships, co-ops, and graduate research assistant positions


FTBEC Membership is a charitable, tax-deductible gift made to the North Carolina Textile Foundation (NCTF). FTBEC membership varies by member company’s annual revenue.
