Posted March 15, 2021
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – At the call for help from local and international healthcare workers, Global Impex USA immediately sprang into action and support amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Founded in 2017, Global Impex USA is a mill-direct company specializing in producing large quantities of industrial and artist canvases, merchandise apparel and other custom resources. In response to the increasing demand for medical PPE, the company shifted its focus to providing Level 3 PPE for medical providers around the Midwest and throughout the United States. These efforts could not have been possible without the excruciating efforts of their young workforce of interns and their partnerships with manufacturers and local businesses through company co-founders King Mukherjee & Bob Gazich.
Through this outstanding partnership, they, along with their 20+ interns, created their subsidiary company, Stryv Medical. Stryv Medical is a business consortium that provides local and international communities with essential medical equipment such as antibacterial fabrics, hospital gowns, lab coats, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), scrubs and more.
In pushing the global standard to practice sustainable business practices under environmentally friendly standards, Stryv Medical gowns are woven and finished directly in the U.S. Additionally, they have donated a portion of their inventory to hospitals, public services, restaurants and individual customers since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Global Impex USA also runs another subsidiary company, Guild Apparel Co, which serves its retail-oriented customers with merchandise of noteworthy athletes. Partnerships with high-end clothing brands such as Bella+Canvas, Independent and Next Level allow Guild Apparel Co. to minimize and control their environmental impact by using organic blends, cotton and water-based inks.
Some of the influential names they've worked with so far are NFL players Cordarrelle Patterson & Mackensie Alexander and Netflix Cheer! star Shannon Woolsey. With a team of young in-house graphic designers and rising entrepreneurs, they are preparing to launch all sorts of new collections in the future with their latest partnership with The Cut Agency athletes.
Early in his business career, Mukherjee created Prestige Implex, a multimillion dollar international textile company. With more than 20 years of knowledge and experience under his belt, he has conducted business in over 40 countries. He is a veteran of the textile business, specializing in supply chain management and sustainability.
Mukherjee currently teaches global supply chain and advanced global strategy as an associate professor of the Global Business Leadership Department at St. John's University and St. Benedict's College in St. Cloud, Minn. He is also the chairman of Programs for AIB (Academy of International) Midwest.
Gazich is a Minnesota native with a Ph.D. in psychology and is hockey enthusiast. He previously taught alongside Mukherjee as a business professor for St. John's University and St. Benedict's College. Since then, he has led Madison Capitols, an ice hockey team, as their president.
Gazich is a natural leader and an expert at helping employees reach their full potential. At Global Impex USA, he is an inspiration and motivator for all interns. Through Zoom meetings, he leads the team by engaging with the human side of the textile business. He is currently the leader and consultant of a family-owned business.
"Bob is the fun and relaxed one, and I am the cold and strict one," says King, laughing. "We're like hot and cold; we balance each other out."
