Posted June 23, 2021
The Southern Textile Research Conference (STRC) has been rescheduled to May 1-3, 2022, organizers announced this week.
The STRC will take place at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C., as originally planned. The conference theme will be “Innovation for Wellness, Safety, & Sustainability.”
Details regarding the STRC agenda will be released later. The conference website, www.TheSTRC.org, will be updated regularly.
The STRC Planning Committee said it regrets the postponement; however, it was agreed that attendee safety was paramount over all other considerations.
The STRC launched in 1961. The first five meetings took place in Hilton Head, S.C. The Conference Founder Was Dr. Luther B. Arnold. Walter Waluciwitz and Herman Goldstein were also instrumental as founders of STRC. The original attendees were strictly technical personnel and were by invitation-only.
Attendees changed over the years, with the focus to include a balance of technical personnel from industry / manufacturing, textile suppliers and textile university professors. STRC is no longer invitation-only and welcomes all interested attendees.
The format of the STRC fosters an atmosphere of interaction between speakers and attendees. Each presentation allows time for questions and answers so the attendees can get a thorough understanding of the topics presented.
