Minnesota Knitting Mills names Appelsies company president

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – Patrick Hickey, a member of Minnesota Knitting Mills’ (MKM) board of directors, announced that Rick Appelsies has been named company president to replace him, effective immediately.
Hickey joined the company in 2008 as president and then served as acting president and managing director. He will continue to provide consultation and remain on the company’s board of directors, headed by Harold (Bunny) Kuller, CEO and chairman.
In 2016, Hickey was named SEAMS’ Person of the Year for his outstanding and dedicated service to the association.
Applesies joined MKM as senior product development manager last year. His past experience includes of a wide array of executive leadership and experience in the textile industry ranging from senior vice president at Red Wing Shoe Co. to various executive leadership and development responsibilities at companies such as Wolverine Worldwide and Rocky Brands, Inc. He has both B2B and retail backgrounds.
“We are pleased and excited to have him step into this key position at MKM,” Hickey said. “He will be responsible for all functional areas and report directly to our board of directors. Please join me in welcoming him to his role.”
Diane Rogers, the company’s current managing director, will continue her role as our chief financial officer (CFO) and remain on the board of directors
Reporting to Applesies will be Wade Kytola, senior director of sales; Amanda Nelson, senior director of operations and plant manager; Britt Moore, director of customer service and sales; and Rogers.
