Karl Mayer North America is the U.S. subsidiary of a leading global manufacturer of textile machinery (head-office in Germany; operations in 10 countries), see We have openings for: 

Service Technicians


  • Installation, start-up, optimization and repair of advanced machines in customers’ production environment to assure output in accordance with customers’ functional, quality and productivity requirements. 

  • Analyze, troubleshoot and correct mechanical, electrical, control and production problems of machines at customers

  • Train, advise and instruct customers in setup, use, maintenance and troubleshooting of the machinery.  

  • Communicate and report activities, analyses and troubleshooting activities to customer and manager. If needed, communicate with company’s overseas parent organization R&D and engineering staff to resolve complicated problems. 


Required experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and principles (many moving parts in these machines)

  • Troubleshooting experience with various electrical motors, drives, sensors, encoders and industrial computers

  • Maintenance and troubleshooting experience with complex electro-mechanical, computer-controlled machinery. 


Soft skills:

  • Act as a professional ambassador of the company in relations with customers and group

  • Willing to learn, on the job and in training settings (which can be overseas, for example in our head-office in Germany)

  • Written and verbal communication; able to explain and train and to put observed problems, analysis, actions and questions into words, using PC (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting

  • Requires flexibility to cope with extensive travel, Typically from one day to a few weeks.

  • Mainly USA and Canada,. Occasionally trips to other countries, which may be longer.
