Unifi exec chairman to speak at AAPN’s next Fireside Chat

ATLANTA – Albert P. Carey, executive chairman at Unifi, Inc. and a former Fortune 50 CEO, will present during the Americas Apparel Producers Network’s (AAPN’s) next Fireside Chat, part of its American Ingenuity Series.
The event will take place Thursday, January 21 at 2 p.m. ET.
Carey is a veteran of 45 years in leading companies. After starting at Proctor & Gamble out of the University of Maryland, he rose to become CEO of PepsiCo North America, a role he held until his retirement from PepsiCo in March 2019. He is a multi-decade PepsiCo veteran with experience across snacks and beverages, and was responsible for leading North America Beverages, Frito-Lay North America and Quaker Foods North America.
Carey will cover four topics:

Servant leadership, building teams, especially frontline employees.

Creation of an innovation pipeline of at least 10% new products or services a year

Learning to listen to your customers, finding out what is important to them

Given that the textile/apparel industry is a mature business, he will share his initial impressions of Unifi and today's consumer demand for traceability and transparency. He will also comment on how we need prepare to get our people back up to speed after the pandemic settles and how to raise their confidence.
