We are looking for an self-driven and curious Business Development Manager to join us and unlock growth by developing and bringing to market our next generation of chemical solutions solve problems in the Textile, Metalworking, Janitorial & Personal Care industries.  You will support implementation of our innovation strategy, drive commercialization and market penetration of new products together with our commercial & lab teams.


Succeed by:

Work across sales team to generate and help develop new markets and new products.  Manage the Product Line and direct the assigned Technical Service personnel.  Coordinate goals and strategy for Apollo Chemical, including Prep/Bleach and Dyeing SBU.  Assists Sales Representatives in presentation of Prep/Bleach and Dyeing SBU products to customers and broadens the knowledge of Prep/Bleach and Dyeing products to Sales Representatives and customers.  Have direct sales responsibility for select customers. Target key non-textile growth areas using existing or potential Apollo products.  Success in this new role requires strong commercial drive and ability to commercialize our solutions, interest in diving into the technical and commercial drivers of our business, and ability to connect with users across the world.  You will follow multiple business markets to uncover commercial opportunities that fit with our diversified production capabilities.  This job will:

  • Drive development and implementation of our innovation strategy.

  • Manage new product development projects in close collaboration with R&D, Sales and external partners.

  • In collaboration with our commercial teams, engage with customers to understand their needs and opportunities for our chemical solutions.

  • Be responsible for developing business cases, market analyses, and go-to-market strategies for our future products.

You will be reporting to the Vice President & General Manager.


  • Hold business or technical degree (BS/BA)

  • Have minimum 5 years of experience where you have proven your strong business acumen and business development skills. Track record and relevant experience in our target industries

  •  a structured, results oriented person with tenacity to drive projects to completion

  • Be passionate about translating market and consumer insights into value propositions for our new solutions

  • Enjoy working in cross functional teams with many stakeholders

  • Have good communication skills and ability to develop and translate strategies into actionable plans

  • Be fluent in spoken and written English.  Spanish fluency is a plus.

  • Travel domestically & internationally is required, but less than 25% per year.

You will be expected to travel 15-25 days per year (not during COVID-19)

Location: This job will be located in Burlington, NC.
